Be wary of online sources of unverified information

LONDON, Saturday, 16th May 2020- The Zambia High Commission in London would like to urge Zambians to be wary of increasing online sources of unverified information on COVID-19.

The Mission would like to urge Zambians not to share any content they come across online that causes strong emotional stress- like panic or fear but should first check whether the information is accurate and if the affected family has approved the information before sharing it.

We urge you to consult the Mission before sharing any content that you are not sure of to avoid getting misled by online misinformation. Remember false and misleading information spread like wildfire because people share them. People tend to believe lies than the truth.

Let us stand together as One Zambia One Nation. The only way we can win the fight against COVID-19 is to remain united and support each other and only share correct facts to the general public.

Once again, the Mission would like to assure all Zambians in the UK that the Zambia High Commission is as committed as ever to supporting you during this time.

We also wish to encourage you to visit our website www.zambiahc.org.uk for updates and further information”.
